
Paw-Paw’s Patisserie was founded in June 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a Cottage Food License home bakery with one simple mission: to share joy, comfort, and family tradition through baked goods.
Owner and baker Anthony L. Johnson grew up inspired by his grandmother, Elizabeth, who was known as the heartbeat of every family gathering. Her legendary layered cakes were so anticipated that celebrations didn’t feel complete until she walked through the door with one in hand. Carrying her love for baking forward, Anthony began making cakes and desserts for coworkers, bowling leagues, and friends. The warm reception and loyal following encouraged him to transform his passion into a business—one named after the affectionate title given to him by his granddaughters: Paw-Paw.
At Paw-Paw’s, every recipe is created with heart and heritage in mind. Whether it’s a moist 7-Up cake, rich caramel cake, fruity pineapple or peach cake, or one of our signature mini bundts, pies, lemon bars, or cupcakes, each bite is crafted to spark nostalgia and create new memories. We also offer custom-themed cakes for special occasions, making Paw-Paw’s a place where celebrations are made even sweeter.
Our mission goes beyond the kitchen. Paw-Paw’s Patisserie is committed to community, partnering with local nonprofits whenever possible and donating leftover treats to spread joy to those who need it most.
